Job Title: Data Specialist/Program Assistant
Salary: $10.50/hr - $12.50/hr
Status: Part-Time, 20-30hrs/week depending on volume
Objective: Reviews, corrects, and finalizes operational production and transaction data. The Data Specialist/Program Assistant is primarily responsible for ensuring that all internal and external company data processing requirements are being met. In addition, this position assists with the fluid demands and requirements of the Program Manager and generates reports for President as requested.
As the second/tertiary point of contact for both our public and governmental client base, this position demands a personality representative of strong, positive customer service values as well as independent analytical thinking.
- Typing 60+ WPM (ten key skills preferred)
- Familiarity with Apple desktop and mobile operating systems.
- Experience w/Microsoft Word & Excel
- B2B Web-based services technology (SaaS) experience required
Education and Training: High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred. English language skills (to include written) a must. At minimum, a basic understanding of bookkeeping or accounting is required.
Experience: Previous bookkeeping or other financial analytic experience required. The Data Specialist/Program Assistant will constantly be working within our custom data software and as such extensive database software experience (no particular title) is preferred. Experience with QuickBooks (or other bookkeeping software) training a plus. Additionally, the Data Specialist/Program Assistant must have at least two years recent office technology experience or education, including using scanners, faxing, email, multi line phone systems and knowledge of smart phone technology.
Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations: In addition, the Data Specialist/Program Assistant must possess a clean driving record and submit a current copy of their 5-year DMV report for review.
Supervision & Technical Responsibility: The Data Specialist/Program Assistant interacts with fellow teammates, but does not directly or indirectly supervise staff.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the Data Specialist/Program Assistant is regularly required to sit; utilize their hands; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The Data Specialist/Program Assistant is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Data Specialist/Program Assistant must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Even though this opening is for a Data Specialist/Program Assistant, this position requires that they understand and are competent in many of the procedures and duties required of our field staff members.
Work Environment: The Data Specialist/Program Assistant reports to our Albany, Oregon headquarters. However, strong consideration will be given to a telecommuting candidate living between the Salem-Portland geographic region should their qualifications justify the modification. Please note, to be considered for telecommuting the candidate must currently possess high-speed broadband internet (Comcast or Verizon, not DSL).
Mental Functions: While performing the duties of this job, the Data Specialist/Program Assistant is regularly required to analyze, communicate, coordinate, compute, synthesize, evaluate and use interpersonal skills. The Data Specialist/Program Assistant is frequently required to compare, compile and negotiate. The Data Specialist/Program Assistant is occasionally required to copy and instruct.
